“Just like that,” he confirmed, giving her a soft squeeze. “Of course I believe you, Brittany. I know we’ve had crazy up and downs lately, but I know you well enough to know you’d never lie to me about something this huge. Especially not about Quinn.” After a beat, he added, “I know you wouldn’t lie to me about anything, actually. Unless you were sworn to secrecy. I just…I have to admit, I’m freaking out a bit. It’s scary not knowing what’s happening with them right now, and anything I can do to keep them safe? I’ll do it. I liked Caroline but…not more than I’m going to care for Quinn and I’s kid. I’m going to man up, and do the right thing, and take care of him or her.”
“It’s really no wonder she fell so deeply in love with you,” the blonde said with a half smile. “You’re a good friend and a good man. Or at least you will be, right? I mean, I’m not a woman yet so you’re not a man yet, right? We’ve got our whole lives ahead of us,” she rambled, even as she wondered how much of it was true. His and Quinn’s lives were going to change, had already changed, at least in their perception of their world. “You know I’m gonna be there, like, all the time, right? I know you’ll do the right thing. You already have,” she said as she curled up into his chest. “Are you okay? I haven’t even asked. I mean, this is, like, gianormous.”
